We all know why we are eating fruits and what are the vitamins present in the fruits, what time will be the best to intake fruits. Most of us prefer a fruit salad in the break fast but do we know that there is some rules to combine fruits?Some times after our meals and fruits intake, we feel bloated, stomach upset because we might not have followed fruit combination rules.Fruits mixing chart

Fruits Combination Chart:
There are 4 category in fruits list–depending on different enzymes and different time taken to digest .Acid fruits, Sub Acid Fruits, Sweet fruits  and Melon .

Digestion Time:

Melons – 30-60 minutes

Sweet fruit -40 to 60 minutes

Acid fruit – 20 to 30 minutes.

Sub acid -30 to 40 minutes

Melons:Watermelon, honeydew, canary melon, Crenshaw melon comes under melon. Watermelon are said to have high water content and should always be eaten away from mealtime and alone .Melons should not be consumed with any other foods because they decompose/digested quickly in the digestive system.

Acid Fruits:Cherries, strawberries, orange, lemon, pineapple, kiwi, grapefruit, pomegranate are Considered to be Acid Fruits. Acid fruits can be easily digested and produce no distress when eaten alone or when eaten with sub acid fruits. When Acid fruits is intake with sweet fruits then bloating occurs in our body. Acid Fruits contains fiber and are rich in antioxidants.  Approximate digestion time for acid fruit takes around 20 to 30 minutes.

Sub acid: Peaches, Apples, Grapes, Mangoes, Lynches, Apricots, Pears are said to be Sub Acid fruits .digestion time of Sub acid fruits varies up to 30 to 40 minutes

Sweet fruits are Banana, Fig, Papaya, Jack Fruit, Dates, Dried Fruits, sweet fruits consists of concentrated sugar and provide minerals, hence take longer time to digest.

Do not combine acid and sub-acid fruits with sweet fruits at the same meal. Acid fruits can be mixed with sub-acid fruits and Sweet fruits can be mixed with sub-acid fruits
