Amla holds high amount of vitamin C content that promote good bone and teeth formation.Amla hold about 445 mg per 100 gram hence it is said to be a rich source of vitamin C. Gooseberry also help in boosting the number of RBC – hemoglobin and iron.

Amla also helps boost calcium absorption in our body.Amla is very rich in fiber that indicates ability of body to absorb nutrients.Amla is rich in Vitamin C cures sore throat and cold.Amla avoid anemic condition as well as improve blood pressure and blood sugar level. Gooseberry is a natural insulin that help diabetic patient to maintain blood sugar level.

Gooseberry jam can be eaten by all persons including diabetic. This include very low calories .This Gooseberry recipe can be stored for more than 3 weeks when it is prepared properly.

How to prepare Gooseberry Jam / Amla jam

Ingredient:

Gooseberry- 15
ginger powder- 1/2 cup
water - ½ cup 
jaggery- 250gm
Honey-4 tbsp(optional)

1.Boil gooseberry / amla in pressure pan for 30 min. Separate Gooseberry pulp and seeds  then Chop Gooseberry into small pieces as shown. Grind gooseberry into fine paste. Make jaggery syrup and  add the gooseberry pulp paste to the boiling syrup.Stir the mixture in medium flame until you get a hard paste consistency then Add Ginger powder and stir well the mixture to evenly . Finally Add Honey to the mixture.Turn off the flame only when you get the hard consistency as shown.Note:
Make jaggery syrup as normal sugar syrup( 1:2 / water:jaggery)
Before you turn off your cooking, make sure whether the final gooseberry jam is thick consistency not watery .if it is watery then we shall not store it for long weeks.
