My mom used to prepare this banana sweet during Christmas ( Christmas recipe ) ( Banana recipe ).Most of the thoothukudi members might know about this sweet consistency and its awesome taste.This Banana Sweet is a thoothukudi’s rare-old-famous Christmas sweet.I loved to eat this sweet because this sweet will melt in our mouth. Since this is my mom’s favorite recipe,she suggested me to put this recipe.
If you add wheat flour it will become too hard to eat. adding Less wheat flour is optional and also it will reduce its hardness.Being patient is more important while preparing this sweet. it will take 30 minutes to prepare.Below measurement is much more important for preparing this sweet.
This sweet will not be hard to eat it will be like soft and halwa consistency ,you shall add less wheat flour for little hardness.
How to prepare Thoothukudi Famous Banana Sweet
Ingredients:
- banana – 12
- sugar -120gm
- ghee -120gm
- cashew nuts -12
100 banana for 1 kg sugar (50 banana for 500gm sugar)(25 banana for 250gm sugar)(10 banana for 100 gm sugar)
How to prepare Thoothukudi Famous Banana Sweet
Take banana fruit and remove the seeded part in the center area.Heat the chopped banana and sugar mix it for 15 min .Stir the banana until the banana is boiled and raw taste and raw smell disappears.If you want you can add 4 tsp of wheat flour (i have not used so picture is missing). stir until it become cream and Add ghee to the content.Stop stirring when sweet and ghee separate. Add cashew and dry grapes.Cool the content and wait for 1 to 2 hours to set . your banana sweet is ready to serve .Do not place it in fridge.Make sure the banana and sugar are too thick in consistency.
Do not add water while making sweet.
No need external blender to make banana paste (once you boil the banana it automatically makes in to paste due to heat).
