ORIGIN OF OLASAPO FRUIT
Olasapo is a flowering tree in the family Chrysobalanaceae.
Couepia polyandra is native to southern Mexico south to Panama and has been introduced to Florida.

APPEARANCE OF OLASAPO FRUIT
• The Olasapo fruit is yellow to orange-yellow in colour when ripe and is green when unripe.
• Olasapo is astringent unless fully mature, at which stage it should be quite soft, possibly appearing overripe. Such fruit are usually found on the ground, having fallen off the tree.

Olasapo has a mild, sweet flavour similar to canistel when ripe but has a very astringent flavour when unripe. Olasapo Tastes like egg yolk, custard.
HISTORY OF OLASAPO FRUIT
Olasapo is ovoid in shape and measures 5-8 centimeters (2-3 inches) in length and 3-4 centimeters (1-1.5 inches) in width. Olasapo fruit contains one large seed.
The epicarp of Olasapo is glabrous, smooth, and thin. The mesocarp is thick and fleshy. The endocarp is thin, fragile, fibrous.
The flesh of Olasapo is fibrous, semi-dry, and egg yolk-like in consistency.
